This quadcopter is produced by Cheerson. It’s labeled as Cheerson CX20 Auto-Pathfinder FPV RC Drone with GPS Auto-return Function RTF White.

It is well designed. Sometimes we deal with quadcopters which are very big. From time to time it becomes impossible to carry it from one place to another. But this quadcopter being small and easy to handle, you can have it with you all the place. It’s very easy to carry in a bag.

The whole package includes these things:
Quadcopter, Remote Control, Balance Charger, Propeller, Li-po Battery, Aircraft Support, Camera Support, User Manual.

Tech Specifications:

– 2 hours charging time you can use this amazing quadcopter for about 15 minutes.

– Rechargeable 11.1 V 2500mAh lithium battery should be used to operate this.

– 4 of these batteries to run this.

– There is an age restriction for this product.

– Mainly the product is designed for 14+ kids.

Pros:
1. 2.4G ISM frequency will take your quadcopter up to 300 meters from the ground. Meaning you can now do all those crazy adventurous stunts and still record it with this quadcopter.
2. It has GPS enabled in it. So you can track it all the time and have it in your place safely.
3. Some drones tend to lose their path in case of heavy wind pressure. But not this drone. It has such powerful blades that no matter what wind pressure is thrown at it, it will surpass it nicely.

Cons:
1. You may want to use high quality batteries for this drone. If you use crappy batteries and try to fly this thing then you may not get the best possible experience.
2. Before each flight GPS should be checked thoroughly. Whether it’s working or not. It sometimes freezes. So it’s better to take a look into it before letting it go.

Like the previous F100 quadcopter, this one has GoPro capabilities, as well. In fact, this drone shares multiple similarities with the F100 Ghost, which is expected because this one is the first of the line, but comes at a reduced price tag. It’s the ultimate choice for those looking for a cheap drone.

The package includes these things:

Quadcopter, remote controller, 2 LiPo batteries, balance charger, GoPro camera mount, 4 high landing gears, 4 propellers, 4 propeller guards, small screwdriver, wrench.

Tech Specifications:

– It can serve you up to 12 minutes plus an 1800mAh extra LiPo battery that doubles your flight time

– Brushless motors for smooth, precise control that are considerably quieter than others

– Uses High and Low speed modes

– Compatible with GoPro Hero 3 and Hero 4 models

– You can go typically 200 feet in the air with no problems

Pros:

You can set the controls on “Low Rate” for better control and an easier response rate.
The motors are almost unnaturally quiet, making for great video footage with no intrusive noises.
Like the previous F100 drone, you can easily perform 360° aerial flips and stunts.
The drone has an included camera mount, so you can attach it, put your GoPro Hero 3 or Hero 4 in and get into the field immediately.

Cons:

Flying with a GoPro can shorten the range, causing you to lose connection and control.
The added weight of a GoPro can have flight issues where battery and stability in weather conditions are concerned.

The 2nd quadcopter is from Hubsan and its Hubsan H502S FPV X4 Desire GPS Altitude Mode 4 Channel 5.8GHz Transmitter 6 Axis Quadcopter. The name of the drone certainly says a lot of its characteristics. It has 720p HD camera built in the system. So the video recording just reached the next level. The era of blurry photos or videos is long gone. It has quite a large screen and there is an amazing Gyro fly system in it that I’ll be talking about in pros section.

The whole package include these things:
Quadcopter, Remote Control, blade set, blade screw set, USB Cable, Manual, drone battery, protection cover.

Tech Specifications:

– It runs with 4 AA batteries. You will need about 150 minutes to charge the whole thing.

– It can serve you for about 12 minutes.

– Built-in 720p HD camera .

– GPS function and latest 6 Axis Gyro fly control system .

Pros:
1. It has automatic return. In case you’ve sent it far away from your destination you can get it back through automatic return. You just need to press it and it will come to you itself.
2. The drone has follow up feature. It usually comes handy when you’re mainly doing something adventurous. Like you’re rowing a boat or skiing in the winter. The drone will follow you and take all the amazing snaps from top.
3. It has 6 axis Gyro fly control system. It will make flying the drone so much easier to you.

Cons:
1. This drone doesn’t have a 360 roll button. If you’re looking for features like that, then this drone may not be the perfect for you.
2. It doesn’t get higher than 150 m, so you may want a more powerful one if you desire to cover more distance.

3rd quadcopter I’ll be reviewing is slightly different from the previous ones. In previous quadcopters, we’ve seen the quadcopters in a boxed shape. But in this one all the fans are basically in the same line. This quadcopter is made by Parrot and it’s called Parrot AR.Drone 2.0 Elite Edition Quadcopter. One of the best features of this quadcopter is it can be controlled with iOS or android smartphone. Even a tablet can be used to control this drone.

Tech Specifications:

– The refurbishing process includes functionality testing

– Remote control quadricopter controlled using an iOS or Android smartphone or tablet

– 720p high-definition live video streaming & recording to smartphone or tablet while flying

– Record & share videos & pictures straight from AR

Pros:
1. The drone can record up to 12 minutes.
2. There’s not only 1, but 2 camera to record whatever you want. One camera is located in the front of the drone and the other one is under the drone. 1st camera is HD and 2nd one is VGA.
3. It’s a self-stabilizing drone. And you can easily modify the drone if you want to.

Cons:
1. The camera that’s underneath the drone is very low resolution. So for HD video you have to depend on only front camera.
2. As it’s a flat type drone, sometimes it gets tough to control it in heavy wind pressure. As it’s a big flat drone, wind pressure falls fully on the surface. But with proper flying skill it’s easy to overcome the matter.
3. Another drawback of this drone is an external phone / tablet is used to control this thing. So basically you have to use touchpad to fly this drone. And touchpad is nowhere near sensitive comparing to joystick. So controlling the drone can be a tough thing to grasp at first.

This drone is just like the previous one. Has a flat body. There are two red colored fans on 1 side, and 2 black colored fans on another side. This drone weighs around 4.6 pounds. It’s recommended that boys above 14 years old should use this drone. There’s a monitor in the controller. So you can actually see where the drone is going without continuously staring at it all the time. It doesn’t matter if you’re totally new to this drone thing. There are simple instructions given and it just takes a few minutes to get the hold of everything about how this drone works.

Tech Specifications

– You can cover up to 150 m with this drone.

– The drone needs 4 batteries to run.

– Flight time is about 15 – 20 minutes.

– The package will give you 3 batteries.

– The camera covers 720p HD.

Pros:
1. It’s a quite powerful drone. No need to worry if it crash lands some time. It’s a stable drone and it will get its way up to the top again.
2. The drone can record up to 4 GB of videos.
3. Batteries need less than 1 hour to get fully charged. After that it can serve up to 15 – 20 minutes.

Cons:
1. It doesn’t have a return to home button. So basically you have to manually bring it down.

Some quick tips are,
1. Let the motors cool down for 10 – 15 minutes before any flight. It will ease the journey of your drone.
2. There’s a foam canopy in the drone, you should remove it as soon as possible. Because it looks like it doesn’t weigh much. But the truth is, it makes the drone heavy and slow. You can just fly it with foam once and fly it again without foam. You can certainly feel the difference in flying.

All the products we have seen so far is quite big. But this one is extremely small & light weight. It weighs only 7 ounces. This drone has some small parts that’s why it’s not suitable for kids under 3 years old. It’s a delicate drone so it’s advised kids above 16 years old should use this drone.

Tech Specifications

– It needs 4 lithium ion batteries.

– It can cover up to 100 meters.

– There is 6 axis Gyro stabilization which makes

The Alliance for Drone Innovation

Published

on

This post was originally published on this site
Manufacturing giant DJI has announced the launch of the Alliance for Drone Innovation (ADI), an effort to broaden the support for the goals of the former Drone Manufacturers Alliance originally formed 2 years ago by 3DR, GoPro, DJI and Parrot.

The new organization will address the same issues – but the coalition has now expanded to include suppliers and software developers of both personal and professional drones “as well as the innovative Americans who fly them for recreational, artistic, and business purposes,” says the Alliance.

Led by Jenny Rosenberg, former Department of Transportation Acting Assistant Secretary for Aviation and International Affairs, the group’s focus is on legislative and regulatory activity: matters of critical importance right now to stakeholders in the recreational drone industry.  Recent arguments over the repeal of Section 336 in the next FAA Authorization package – a move which would grant the FAA broad authority to impose laws for recreational drones – could threaten the growth of the sector.  Recreational drone manufacturers and advocacy groups are committed to keeping the law in place, which would mean that recreational droners do not have to get a Part 107 license or additional training to fly as long as they fly within the framework of a community-based flight organization, such as the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) or the Drone User Group (DUG.)

“ADI is focused on promoting innovation and the growth of the unmanned aircraft industry for both personal and professional use,” says ADI.  “…ADI promotes awareness among policymakers, media and the general public of how drones help society, ensuring that government policies allow everyone to achieve the benefits of safe and responsible drone flight.”

“We look forward to working with Congress, the administration, and other stakeholders on policies that promote innovation and allow the drone market to flourish in a responsible and safe manner,” said ADI Executive Director Jenny Rosenberg.

In addition to legal protections for recreational operators as mentioned above, the ADI supports a micro-drone classification exempting very small and lightweight aircraft from certain laws, and the preservation of FAA preemption.  FAA preemption refers to the idea that the FAA should maintain ultimate authority over the airspace, preventing state, tribal and local governments from passing their own drone laws.

Firefly Drone Shows: The Team Behind That Viral Video Expands Their Fleet

Published

on

By

This post was originally published on this site

Press Release: Firefly Drone Shows, founded by Kyle Dorosz and Ryan Sigmon, is expanding their fleet to 200 custom-built drones and booking for a variety of outdoor events this summer. They are the third company in the United States to gain approval for performing across the country, and one of the few in the world to also possess a night waiver from the FAA for drone shows. Routines are pre-programmed, choreographed, and automated by a computer to create any design imaginable in the sky. This level of customization makes light shows an ideal alternative to traditional fireworks for corporate, private, and special events.

Firefly recently made headlines in regional news outlets, including MLive and ABC 12, after a video of their first test performance, recorded by Grand Blanc resident Kaylin Adams, went viral. Dorosz was operating 30 drones at dusk, from Holly Cloud Hoppers flying field, which piqued the curiosity of Adams plus 10-15 other drivers who parked on the shoulder of the I-75 highway to safely view the synchronized light show.

Traditional fireworks are loud, costly, can be used only once, and emit various harmful toxins. Drone shows don’t leave a carbon footprint and can be executed repeatedly, something co-founder Dorosz believes will appeal to to eco-conscious industries including music and entertainment. “We are able to create bright, impactful displays in the sky without the significant pollution or steep costs generally associated with fireworks.”

A light show can last up to 20 minutes. However, additional drones can be launched to replace drones with depleted batteries, creating a seamless and continuous light show. Anyone attending a music festival, county fair, or corporate event this summer will be relieved to know that if they spot groups of lights performing mesmerizing routines, it’s likely a Firefly Drone Show at work and not a visit from extraterrestrial beings.

Firefly is currently booking summer events across the nation. View more of their shows, and follow along, on Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, or visit fireflydroneshows.com.

About Firefly Drone Shows

Firefly provides synchronized drone light shows for corporate and private events, as well as custom applications. One of the only FAA-approved companies in the world, Firefly offers the latest technology operated by the most experienced pilots.
