Yuneec Typhoon H Pro

The Typhoon H Pro by Yuneec will run you about $1000, but we assure you, it’s definitely worth its weight in gold. It has some incredible specs that make it a worthy competitor in our review.

Listed below are the specs and features:

– Uses Intel RealSense technology that creates a 3D map for the purpose of providing positional data when GPS is minimal and aiding in overall obstacle avoidance – Includes the CGO3+ gimbal-stabilized camera that supports 4K video and 12MP still photos – Uses retractable landing gear when in flight and retractable arms to ensure minimal damage in the case of a crash or a collision – Comes with the ST16 Personal Ground Station controller with a built-in transmitter and receiver to ensure that it’s an all-in-one device with a 7” display screen – Uses 2.4 GHz transmission for joystick operation and 5.8 GHz transmission for the livelink video

The biggest pro that the Typhoon H Pro by Yuneec has to offer is no doubt the Intel RealSense technology. It makes flying as easy as possible with minimal work to avoid obstacles and crashes, thanks to the 3D map of the world that it builds all by itself.

The biggest con, however, is that it’s not for newbies. Even intermediate users will have some difficulty. If you are a newbie, though, be prepared to sit with it for hours, maybe even days, until you can figure it all out thoroughly.

This Inspire 2 by DJI comes with the Zenmuse X4S and will run you up to $3600. Unfortunately, this price may be too high for some just looking at it, but we know once you know the kind of punch this drone bundle packs, you’ll be itching to get your hands on it!

Listed below are the specs and features:

– Features Advanced Obstacle Sensing, CineCore 2.0 image processing, Auto Return to Home, and Follow Me – Uses a dual battery design onboard to extend your flight time to the maximum – Supports recording in both CinemaDNG and Apple ProRes – Fully compatible with 5.2K gimbal cameras – Total flight time of up to 27 minutes – Able to hit 50 mph within 4 seconds and reach a maximum speed of up to 67 mph – Capable of capturing cinema-type footage through recording in H.264, H.265, and other high bit rates – Comes with an FPV camera stabilized using a 2-axis system

The biggest pro that the Inspire 2 by DJI has to offer in the case of this bundle, is the fact that you’re getting an advanced autonomous drone with a lot of extras, too! Even though a 16GB MicroSD card is included, you also get a Sandisk Ultra 64GB MicroSD card, and SPC cleaning kit, and a microfiber cleaning cloth on top of it all.

The biggest con, however, is that it can be a very complicated setup for beginners or those who have never had a “big rig” before. If you’re completely new, or even relatively new, to more advanced drones, we don’t recommend this package deal.

The biggest pro that the Bebop 2 by Parrot has to offer is the FreeFlight Pro app that is used for the majority of Parrot’s drones, including both Bebop 1 and 2 and the Disco line. It’s designed to work with their FPV goggles, saves your aerial photography footage, flight data, and gives you access to a number of useful and awesome features, including Autonomous Flight Plan.

The biggest con, however, is that, unfortunately, you have to purchase some of the features in the app to be able to use them, which can be a downer for some.

AirDog is an awesome autonomous drone that has flown under a lot of people’s radars, but we thought it’s time to show some love and recognition. At this time of writing, there are only two sellers. One has it priced at $630, the other at $1300, but we’re hoping more pricing will be available in the near future!

Listed below are the specs and features:

– Automatically uses an autonomous flight feature that follows you around without having to use a controller through the use of motion prediction technology – Comes with the AirLeash, which is a wearable tracking device that is 100% waterproof that allows you to make adjustments while it’s in flight – Able to fly through winds reaching up to 28 knots – Features automatic autonomous flight, multiple flight modes already included and additional modes that are to be released soon, LiDAR, Wakeboard, Surf, Auto Takeoff, Auto Land, Return to Home, and more – Has a foldable design that makes traveling with it as easy as possible – Compatible with GoPro Hero 3, 3+, Silver, White, Black, Hero 4 Black, Silver, and the adapter for GoPro Hero 5 – Total flight time of up to 15 minutes – Able to detect a collision with the ground and avoid it using LiDAR – Weighs 4.1 pounds with a total size of 24.7”x24.7”x5.4”

The biggest pro that the AirDog has to offer is quite obvious. For those who want a fully autonomous drone that requires almost nothing on your end, this is your best bet. It predicts and tracks your movements using motion prediction technology, something you’ll rarely, if ever, find anywhere else.

The biggest con, however, is that some customers have received some faulty batteries. Although, customers have reported that they have received replacement batteries from the manufacturer at no cost, which is always a great gesture.

Who wasn’t excited to hear about the release of the Solo by 3DR? Fortunately for all of us, it’s currently priced at around $230, making it an absolute steal and one of the best autonomous drones for sale that won’t drain your wallet entirely.

Listed below are the specs and features:

– Features Auto Takeoff, Auto Land, One-Key Photos and Recordings, One-Key Flight Pause, Smart Shots, Orbit, Cable Cam, Follow Me, Selfie, and more – Includes a high-quality HDMI input port in the controller for a quick connection to any screen of your choice, be it your laptop, smartphone, tablet, etc – Offers wireless HD video streaming from a connected GoPro straight to your smartphone or other mobile device – Has a transmission range of up to half a mile – Uses LiDAR technology to ensure that indoor flight is both safe and fully possible – Total flight time of between 15 to 20 minutes depending on whether or not you use the gimbal and a GoPro – Compatible with GoPro models Hero 3+ and Hero 4 – Weighs 3.3 pounds with a total size of 18”x18”x10”

The biggest pro that the Solo by 3DR has to offer would definitely be the price and what you’re receiving. It’s a fantastic autonomous drone that comes at a surprising, reasonable price.

The biggest con, however, is that it does not come with a gimbal. If you want to have one with the drone, you will need to purchase one separately. This is most likely the case because it does not come with a camera, which you will also need to supply on your own.

Using drones for real estate has become something that we’ve seen quite often recently. It’s the latest way to show off properties to their full potential using a bird’s eye view, giving your prospective buyers the complete size, layout, and area of the estate.

Not only that but as a real estate agent, we know you’re constantly looking for a way to get the leg up on the competition. Using a drone for aerial shots of your properties is the best way to lay everything out to your clients and give them an interesting perspective on what’s being offered.

To sum it all up, drones for real estate photography are the next big thing in the industry. The property is shed in an entirely new light and, especially when you’re taking a video of the area, gives you a sense of what you can really expect besides just basic pictures of what your prospective buyers will be investing in.

FAQ About Real Estate Drones

If you don’t see your question listed below in our FAQ section, get in touch with us and we’ll help you out!

How do real estate agents use drones?

Real estate agents use drones for a wide variety of things for their clients. For example, an agent will use a drone to show a client any problems with the roof from a distance and areas of a property that are difficult to see properly from the ground.

Overall, however, they use them to show prospective buyers the entire land area they’ll be purchasing. It’s also great for showing local improvement districts and/or civic developments that could contribute to buyer’s property taxes.

Is it legal to use drones for real estate purposes?

As long as you are following the rules and regulations put forth by the FAA and any local and state laws and regulations for the state they are being used in, yes, using drones for real estate purposes is entirely legal!

What should I look for in a real estate drone?

When you’re shopping around for your real estate drone, there are a lot of key features to look for. The quality of the camera is extremely important and should be used as a starting base. 1080p or 4K resolution quality comes highly recommended for obvious reasons.

The battery is also important, as well. Just think of it this way – the bigger the property, the more battery power you should have. Will it take 10 minutes to film the entire property, or will you need a 20-minute battery to do it?

You should also think about certain drone features, as well. For example, a flight path feature that allows you to map out a flight path for the drone is definitely beneficial here. It’ll ensure that you don’t actually have to fly it and that it will do the job itself.

Best Drones for Real Estate

Now that we’ve covered the introductory aspects of real estate drones, let’s take a look at what you’re options are when it comes to using drones for real estate!

DJI Phantom 4 Quadcopter

Read reviews and show for the Original DJI Phantom 4
Back To Top

The Phantom 4 by DJI is everybody’s favorite classic. It’s sitting at $1000 and is no doubt one of the best drones you could use for real estate purposes. The camera alone is enough of a factor, but we’re about to give you the total rundown on it entirely.

Listed below are the specs and features:

  • – Uses both GPS and GLONASS
  • – Camera capabilities with 4K Ultra HD video at 30 FPS, 1080p at 120 FPS, and 12MP photos
  • – Included 3-axis u-frame camera and gimbal stabilization technology
  • – Features Hover, Auto Takeoff, Auto Return Home, Sport Mode, Vision Positioning, Visual Tracking, Active Track, Obstacle Avoidance, and more
  • – Total flight time of up to 28 minutes
  • – Able to hit speeds of up to 45mph when in Sport Mode
  • – Includes a 720p HD transmission with a range of up to 3.1 miles or 5km away
  • – Weighs 8.8 pounds with a total size of 15”x8.7”x12.8”

The biggest pro that the Phantom 4 by DJI has to offer is the amount of features you’re getting. They make shooting videos and taking pictures an absolute snap. There are multiple features that focus on certain aspects of aerial photography that make it a great real estate drone.

One of the biggest cons, however, is that it can have some bugs that DJI won’t really tell you about and may never actually fix. For example, the gimbal calibration may not work or will fail between 71% to 72%.

DJI Inspire 2 Quadcopter Bundle

The Inspire 2 by DJI is another drone favorite, which stands at around $3000 when bundled together with a 64GB UHS-I microSDXC memory card, a card reader, and a MicroFiber cleaning cloth. The price of the bundle no doubt seems pretty steep, but we think you’ll agree with us when they say it’s definitely worth it after you check out what it’s capable of.

Listed below are the specs and features:

  • – Able to accelerate to speeds up to 50 mph within 4 seconds flat
  • – Uses a dual battery design
  • – Features Advanced Obstacle Sensing
  • – Includes a 2-axis stabilized FPV camera
  • – Supports CineCore 2.0 image processing and both ProRES and CinemaDNG recording
  • – Has a maximum velocity of up to 58 mph
  • – Has full compatibility with 5.2K gimbal cameras
  • – Total flight time of up to 27 minutes

The biggest pro that the Inspire 2 by DJI has to offer is the fact that you can combine the drone with the X4S or the X5S gimbal cameras for better imaging based on your personal preferences. By switching between the two you can get bit rates at the highest degree when using either the H.264 or the H.265 formats.

The biggest con, however, is the obvious fact that it’s priced at $3000. This can, unfortunately, be a problem for people who are looking for a budget drone or something within that ballpark.

Yuneec Typhoon H Pro Quadcopter with Intel RealSense

Read reviews and show for the Yuneec Typhoon H
Back To Top

The Typhoon H Pro with Intel RealSense by Yuneec will run you up to $1400, comes as an RTF model, and has a bunch of extras that make it all well worth the price. We all know the Typhoon line from Yuneec, but this package brings Intel RealSense to the table for an added beneficial punch, great for using a drone for real estate.

Listed below are the specs and features:

  • – Uses the ST16 Ground Station controller that has an integrated receiver, transmitter, and an Android platform for all-in-one use with a 7” screen
  • – Features 8 different flight modes, GPS stabilized flight control, Auto Takeoff, Auto Return to Home, Auto Land, Sonar Collision Prevention, Orbit Me, Point of Interest, Curve Cable Cam, and more
  • – Includes the CGO3+ 4K UHD camera with 12MP photos
  • – Has retractable landing gear with 6 rotor safety and 5 rotor fail-safe
  • – Total flight time of up to 25 minutes
  • – Uses the 3-axis anti-vibration CGO3+ gimbal for steady shots and videos, able to rotate 360 degrees with a 98-degree FOV
  • – Weighs 12 pounds with a total size of 17”x21.2”x12.5”

The biggest pro that the Typhoon H Pro by Yuneec has to offer is the Intel RealSense technology. It’s capable of detective and intelligently avoiding obstacles to ensure that collisions are avoided as much as possible. It does this by building a 3D map of the world and enabling the drone to make a choice when an obstacle comes into play on what route it can take to avoid it.

Paired with the Follow Me feature, for example, you won’t have to stop and manually control the drone to ensure it won’t hit anything, giving you more battery time for what you’re doing.

The biggest con, however, is that it will take up to 8 hours to charge a single battery for this drone for real estate. With this in mind, if you have multiple properties you want to shoot in one day, this may not be the drone for you unless you invest in a handful of extra batteries.

Who doesn’t love the Mavic Pro from DJI? Even though some time has passed since it’s initial release, we still get excited over it. We definitely couldn’t leave the Mavic Pro out of our review for the best real estate drones because, let’s face it, it’s perfect for the industry.

Listed below are the specs and features:

  • – Folds down into the size of a water bottle for ease of transportation
  • – Uses the new OcuSynce transmission system that gives up to 4.3 miles or 7km or transmission range
  • – Able to hit speeds of up to 40 mph or 64kmh
  • – Total flight time of up to 27 minutes
  • – Features TapFly, ActiveTrack, Obstacle Avoidance, Vision Positioning, Flight Autonomy, Sport Mode, Gesture Control, and more
  • – Uses both GPS and GLONASS for both indoor and outdoor flying
  • – Includes a 4K camera with full HD 1080p video streaming and able to shoot RAW for both videos and photos
  • – Uses a 3-axis mechanical gimbal
  • – Weighs 1.6 pounds with a total size of 11.4”x7.1”9.4”

The biggest pro that the Mavic Pro by DJI has to offer is no doubt the fact that the arms are 100% foldable and retract to turn the drone into the size of a water bottle. Transporting drones can be an issue at times, but thankfully it isn’t in this case!

The biggest con, however, is that you’ll find it difficult to have the Mavic Pro and other drones paired with your phone at the same time. If you are only planning on using the Mavic Pro for the job and no other, you won’t have to worry about this issue.

Table of Contents FAQ About Fishing Drones Swellpro Waterproof Splash Drone 3 Yuneec Typhoon H Pro 3DR Solo The Best Drones for Fishing

Quick Review: Click here to Jump to Top 3 List

If you’ve yet to hear about fishing drones, prepare to get overly excited. These drones have taken both recreational fishing as a hobby and the commercial industry of fishing to an entirely new level.

These drones take payloads to the extreme, using them to drop bait, hold a line, you name it. A lot of fishermen are using fishing drones to scope out the water and see where the best spots to fish are, which is very similar to how drones are used in agriculture these days.

People have actually caught fish using a drone designed for this purpose, so we had to dig deep and find the best ones to review further! Fishing drones make it possible to see where the fish are, drop the bait in certain areas, hold a line, and even give you the opportunity to fish in areas you’d never be able to do so in.

FAQ About Fishing Drones

If you don’t see your question listed below in our FAQ section, feel free to get in touch with us and we’ll help you out!

What types of loads can fishing drones carry?

Fishing drones can carry fishing line, bait, nets, you name it. Keep in mind, however, that the payload you attach to your drone will drain the battery quicker and will affect how the drone flies, so be careful with the load you use and how much weight you’re putting on.

Is drone fishing legal?

The legality of drone fishing in your state and local area all depends on the state and local laws in effect where you live. This includes fishing licenses, as well. To be sure that you are always within the law, whether you’re using a fishing drone or a regular drone in general, check with your local law enforcement before you take off.

How to use a drone for fishing?

Using a fishing drone or using a regular drone for fishing is actually quite easy! There are very few drones specifically made and designed for fishing, but if you have your hands on one currently, you probably already know how to use it and how fishing works.

Otherwise, you’ll have to consider a few things. For example, do you want to use an add-on, such as a bait cache? There’s also a very simple way to turn your regular drone into a fishing drone with some fishing line.

Simply attach some line, some bait, and go fishing using the Hover function, if applicable, on your drone.

Be careful, though, if you hook a fish that’s too heavy for the drone to handle, you could risk losing it forever. This is why specific fishing drones are better to use, but you can use a regular drone as long as you’re careful.

The Best Fishing Drones

Some of the drones you’re about to see on our list may surprise you, because you probably wouldn’t think they’d be able to be used for fishing.

5 High Altitude Drones for Sale – [Winter 2017] Best Long Elevation Drones

Table of Contents FAQ about High Altitude Drones Best High Altitude Drones For Sale DJI Phantom 4 Autel X-Star Premium Yuneec Typhoon H Hubsan X4 H502S Ionic Stratus Conclusion about High Altitude Drones

Quick Review: Click here to Jump to Top 3 List

Many people think that flight range and altitude are the same. But just because your drone can fly 300 meters away from your remote doesn’t mean that it can fly 300 meters straight up in the air. A drone has to be specifically built to work at high altitudes.

How does it work? Well, thanks to a huge boom in the commercial drone market in the past few years, drones are cheaper than ever to manufacture and to purchase. This means that they can be made extremely light, which allows them to gain a high altitude quickly. More importantly, the motors can be made very light without losing too much power, which gives the quadcopter the thrust it needs to hold those high altitudes and makes the propellers go fast enough to maintain its height.

There’s lots of applications for high altitude drones – from photography to construction to simple recreational use. We’ve compiled a list of the five best – each one tested and vouched for by the Dronethusiast staff. Whether you’re an experienced pilot looking for advice or a first-time user who doesn’t know where to start, this list is sure to help you find the high altitude drone that’s right for you.

FAQ about High Altitude Drones

What are drones?

A drone is simply an unmanned aerial vehicle. The most common drones are quadcopters, which simply means that they have four propellers. Drones are usually controlled with a radio transmitter (just like an RC car), but more recently may also be controlled with a mobile device via WiFi.

Why would I want a high altitude drone?

There’s lots of reasons, but high altitude drones are mostly used in aerial photography or videography. Drones are a cheaper alternative to helicopter or airplane shots. Because they’re lightweight and most of the models on this list have 6-axis gyroscopes, they’re also extremely stable – often moreso than a cameraman hanging out of an helicopter can be. And finally, small drones can take footage of places that traditional aerial photography can’t reach. This is why high altitude drones have been used in major motion pictures like Skyfall and Captain America: Civil War.

What are some non-photography uses for high altitude drones?

Drones are often used in construction to monitor the project site and for mapping and modeling tasks. High altitude drones are also very useful for roof inspections, as we wrote about here. And for recreational fliers, it’s just fun to point the drone straight up and see what it can do.

How high can a drone fly?

Depends on the drone, as we’ll get into below. The record for the highest drone flight ever was a DJI Phantom 2 that was taken up to 11,000 feet. Please note that flying that high is illegal – without a waiver, you can only fly up to 400 feet in the US and 500 feet in Europe. Much higher than that, and the drone can seriously hurt or even kill someone if it falls – not to mention the fact that it may collide with an aircraft.

(Note that we’re only talking about consumer drones here – military drones operate very differently.)

Do I need to register my drone?

It depends where you’re located. If you’re in England, yes. In America (as of 2017) you usually only have to register your drone if you’re using it commercially – that is, if you’re using it in some capacity that makes money. You also have to meet specific pilot and aircraft requirements. It’s best to look up your local laws and regulations and make sure to comply with them.

Best High Altitude Drones For Sale

Here’s five of the best high altitude drones for sale on the market today. Obviously the main factor that influenced a drone’s placement on the list was how high the drone could get and how stable it was at high altitudes, but we also factored in other considerations. There’s no “one size fits all” in the modern drone market, and we want to make sure you find the altitude drone that’s right for you.

#1 – DJI Phantom 4 Pro

The DJI Phantom 4 Pro is widely considered one of the best – if not the best – drones on the market in every category. It’s not just that it can climb to 6000 meters in altitude (though it’s limited to the legal limit of 400 feet without a waiver.) It also has incredible five-directional obstacle sensing, which is very important at high altitudes where you’re likely to run into things you can’t even see. It’s also very, very stable and has an incredibly high-quality camera that’s perfect whether you’re taking photos or keeping an eye on a construction site. All in all, it’s hard to “top” the Phantom 4 when it comes to high altitude drones for sale (get it?)

Tech Specs: 5350 mAh 15.2V LiPo battery 1 hour and 20 minutes approximate charge time Weighs 14 pounds Wingspan is 350 mm 3-axis gimbal 8 channels Plastic

Pros:

Obstacle sensing system (OSS) means that the drone is smart enough to steer itself away from buildings and other obstacles. High quality camera takes HD video in 120 frames per second. New gimbal keeps the drone stable in almost all weather conditions.

Cons:

It’s difficult to set up and the manual is missing some assembly instructions The battery only lasts 28 minutes in the best conditions, which makes it difficult to film long scenes The OSS has difficulty recognizing trees that don’t have a lot of branches or leaves.

#2 – Autel X-Star Premium

The Phantom 4 is great all around, but the Autel X-Star Premium is one of the best camera drones for the money. It has a 4K camera and can take video in Ultra HD, displaying an HD live view to your mobile device from up to 1.2 miles away so that you can see exactly what you’re filming. The X-Star Premium can also go about 1,000 meters in the air and most of its features focus on remaining completely stable. And all this for only about $800 – much cheaper than the DJI flagships.

Tech Specs: 14.8V LiPo battery 1 hour and 30 minutes approximate charge time Weighs 3.2 pounds 25 minutes of flight time 3-axis gimbal 8 channels Plastic

Pros:

Extremely cheap considering the amount of features on offer Gorgeous 4K photos and videos Live HD feed that remains stable from 1.2 miles away makes it easy to keep track of what you’re shooting.

Cons:

Only 25 minutes of flight time makes it difficult to film long scenes No obstacle detection

#3 – Yuneec Typhoon H

The Yuneec Typhoon H can supposedly go up to 1000 meters in the air, but its operating range is only 800 meters, so you won’t be able to control the drone beyond that. That’s still pretty impressive. Like the X-Star Premium, the Typhoon’s main feature is a 4K camera mounted on a 3-axis gimbal, but where it really sets itself apart is its ability to take slow-motion footage in 120 FPS. Also, unlike the two entries which precede it, the Typhoon is designed to require no previous experience to fly.

Tech Specs: 2 hours approximate charge time Weighs 12 pounds 25 minutes of flight time 3-axis gimbal 8 channels Plastic 4K wide-angle camera with a full 360 degrees of motion

Pros:

High-quality video, excels at slow-motion footage GPS stabilized flight control, 5 Rotor Fail-Safe, 8 smart flight modes, and 1-touch takeoff and landing mean that the drone can be flown even by pilots with no prior experience.

Cons:

The number of features on offer probably won’t justify the $1300 price for experienced fliers. The drone is large and inconvenient No obstacle detection

The Hubsan is on this list not because it can go toe-to-toe with the likes of the Phantom 4, but because it’s the best high altitude drone for those on a budget. For only $180, you get a 720p camera for photography and videography that streams live to a 4.3 inch display built into the controller, which makes it very handy for roof inspection jobs and similar tasks. You also get a highly durable brushless design, some handy flight features like headless mode, a GPS-based “Follow Me” mode, and 20 minutes of flight time per battery, which is absolutely unheard of at this price point. If you’re looking to take to the skies without breaking the bank, you’d be hard-pressed to find a better option than the X4 H502S.

Tech Specs: 30-40 minutes approximate charge time Weighs 2.7 pounds 20 minutes of flight time 720p wide-angle camera 4 channels Plastic

Pros:

The best high altitude drone available for less than $200 Good for beginners to pick up and learn

Cons:

Missing several of the key features of other drones on this list Not recommended for professional photography or important construction work because of the low-quality camera and lack of safety features.

#5 – Ionic Stratus

If the H502S is still too expensive for you, the Stratus is an excellent low-end high altitude drone for sale with a wide array of features. It can reach an altitude of 80 meters. That may not sound like much when compared to the rest of this list, but it’s still high enough that you’ll barely be able to see it. It also doesn’t come with a built-in camera – you’ll have to buy a GoPro separately and attach it. However, this is still a stylish and highly durable beginner drone that can reach incredible heights and stays stable with a 6-axis gyro system that’s pretty rare in drones under $100. It also has a 1-button 3D roll function, which is always fun to see.

Tech Specs: 150 minutes approximate charge time Weighs 3.8 pounds 10 minutes of flight time Action camera mount 3 channels 6-axis gyro Plastic

Pros:

The best high altitude drone available for less than $100 Easy for beginners to pick up and learn to fly Extremely stable flight thanks to being one of the few cheap drones with a 6-axis gyro

Cons:

Missing several of the key features of other drones on this list Does not include a built-in camera or any way to stream a live feed while recording, making it all but worthless for any monitoring tasks
